As organisations understand the business importance of championing diversity and inclusivity, it is becoming clear that individuals might require further support in ‘leaning in’ to their careers. Experience has shown that creating a more diverse workplace relies on both cultural change at all levels and individual / group support. For those not in the ‘in group’, there might be limited role models, nervousness associated with showing up as their whole selves in the workplace and fear as to how collegues might react to their ideas, creativity, innovation and ultimately career progression. Equally, leaders within the organization might find challenging the status quo and driving cultural change problematic, as it requires them acknowledging their own unconscious bias and acting in a different way.
The Daring Way™ is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Brené Brown. It has been developed to help men and women learn how to show up, be seen, and live braver lives. The method was designed for work with individuals, work teams, and organizational leaders and can be facilitated in both educational and professional settings.
During the process we will explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness. We examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding us back in the workplace and we identify the new choices and practices that will move us forwards. The primary focus is on developing fear resilience skills and developing daily practices that transform the way we live and lead. The higher purpose is to support individuals in creating a workplace in which people can show up as their whole selves and be valued for that.
Dr. Brené Brown Ph.D. LMSW is a research professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past twelve years studying vulnerability, courage, worthiness, and shame. She is the author of two #1 New York Times bestsellers; Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead (2012), and The Gifts of Imperfection (2010).
"The most intense and provocative course I’ve ever been on…. And I have been on quite a few. I think that you have to feel ready to go on a course like this but it has the ability to actually change your future behaviours, which is quite remarkable in a couple of days." JS, COO, Vizeum
"The daring way is for anyone who wants to be the best they can be, at work, at home as a parent... The framework gives you a safe place to really know yourself and what you are striving for. What you learn in the two days you will revisit again and again throughout your life. You will come away wanting more for yourself and the people around you." JL, CPO, Mindshare
"The Daring Way is a great course for those who are seeking to develop bravery both personally and professionally.'" JH, Chief Talent Office, Mindshare
"(Roxanne's) style was very warm and open encouraging a safe and trusting environment... The Daring Way workshop was a thought-provoking, sometimes scary, emotional, but more than anything potentially life changing. Roxanne’s guidance and facilitation was supportive as well as positively challenging." Manisha - Driven Woman
"It was a wonderful couple of days that really deepened my learning about myself and my 'daring greatly' journey... am so grateful to you for daring greatly, owning your own imperfection and providing a powerful experience for us all. Thank you" MH, Sussex
I can come and deliver this within your organisation, or you can come along to one of our upcoming intensives.
